Episode 460

Zeke was taken aback by the sudden message that appeared before him.

“A system user?”

He knew that the Covenant of the Sanctuary connected their hearts, but he never imagined it would allow system access.

Another message soon followed.

[You can grant system sharing permissions to this user or modify the settings.]

[Would you like to grant sharing permissions to this user?]

This meant that if Zeke approved, Serazad could also access his system.

Zeke realized the true power of the Covenant of the Sanctuary.

“Is this the system-sharing function the Great Sage mentioned? So, the Kabbalah system can be applied to others besides me.”

Seeing Zeke’s expression, Serazad asked, “What’s the matter? Did you really hear my voice in your mind?”

Zeke shook his head. “I’m not sure, Your Majesty.”

“Hmm, the records did mention it. Perhaps there’s another way.”

Just then, a series of messages popped up in front of Zeke.

[A message from the system user: ‘Can you hear me?’ has arrived.]

[A message from the system user: ‘Can you hear?’ has arrived.]

[A message from the system user: ‘Why do you refuse to share a bed? Could it be that you…’ has arrived.]

Zeke quietly closed the message window and turned to Serazad. “The fatigue from the sacred trial is suddenly overwhelming. You must be tired too, Your Majesty. I’ll take my leave for today.”

Ignoring Serazad’s insistence that he stay longer, Zeke made his exit.

Back in his room, Zeke sat on his bed and opened the system window.

“I need to sort things out.”

The newly discovered system-sharing feature was intriguing, but he hadn’t had a chance to organize the rewards he received after returning from the Primordial Temple to the Sultan’s palace.

Zeke decided to set aside the system-sharing feature for now and focus on the rewards from the Primordial Temple.

“I received ten thousand points, an out-of-grade random box, and a special random box from before. Let’s start by organizing the points.”

Checking his status window, he saw he had 24,478 points.

Zeke looked at the points needed to unlock the dragon skill ‘Polymorph.’

“It requires 7,500 points, but with a 30% reduction, it’s 5,250 points.”

He had more than enough karma points to unlock it.

Moreover, he had gained a feature that allowed him to earn a large amount of karma points by fully opening the defense mode.

Zeke decided to unlock the Polymorph skill without hesitation.

As he selected the skill to unlock, a message appeared before him.

[You have acquired the Dragon Skill Level 5 Polymorph.]

Though he had unlocked the skill, Zeke pondered how to use the newly acquired Polymorph skill.

Just then, another message appeared.

[Select the race to polymorph into.]

A list of numerous races appeared before Zeke’s eyes.

“Oh? I can turn into an elf. And even goblins or ogres?”

Upon inspection, it seemed he could transform into any race he had encountered, including his mentor Nigel’s unicorn race.

“Unicorns… a race said to have vanished even from the Eastern Continent.”

Out of curiosity, Zeke selected the unicorn race, but a message indicated he lacked the proficiency to choose it.

Clicking his tongue, Zeke continued browsing the list and opted for the more common elf transformation.

A soft glow enveloped Zeke’s body, and his form began to change.

When the light subsided, Zeke looked down at his new form.

“Hmm? So this is an elf’s body. It feels lighter somehow.”

Zeke slowly approached a mirror.

“Oh?”

Transformed into an elf, Zeke’s appearance was more delicate and slender than his original form.

It seemed the transformation altered his race while retaining his basic features.

“Amazing.”

As he examined his new body, Zeke realized something astonishing.

“I can sense the various energies in the atmosphere much more clearly.”

Elves, being the race closest to spirits, possessed heightened senses that could perceive realms beyond human capability.

Through the elf’s acute senses, Zeke discovered the myriad energies interwoven in the air for the first time.

“With an elf’s body, I can truly understand how chakras are formed.”

Zeke marveled as he moved his body, finding it more agile and responsive than his human form.

Though Zeke had long surpassed human limits, the difference in agility and sensitivity was noticeable.

After testing the elf’s senses for a while, Zeke reverted to his original form.

“With my current proficiency, I can maintain this form for about half a day.”

The duration seemed to vary depending on the chosen race.

Having tested the Polymorph skill, Zeke retrieved the out-of-grade random box he had received as a reward.

“I’m curious to see what item I’ll get this time.”

Using his power of fortune, Zeke slowly opened the random box.

[Your strong will activates the power of fortune.]

[The result of the random box is altered by the influence of fortune.]

[The optimal result for the user is derived.]

As the random box opened, a radiant spectrum of colors burst forth.

When the light faded, Zeke found himself staring at an unexpected item.

“A box?”

Opening a random box had yielded another box.

Zeke reached for the ornate box, and a message appeared.

[You have acquired the Legendary Item ‘Holy Grail.’]

“Holy Grail?”

Typically, a Holy Grail referred to a container for sacred relics.

It was hard to grasp why a storage box would be considered a legendary item.

Puzzled, Zeke immediately checked the Holy Grail’s information.

―Holy Grail Information―

Description: An ancient treasure imbued with the power of primordial light. Created by the constellations to preserve the power of sacred relics.

Unique Power: Layered Enhancement

Special Note: Placing an item in the Holy Grail for a certain period enhances its attributes and abilities or grants new skills. (Only one item can be placed at a time.)

Zeke was astonished by the description.

“Just by placing an item inside, its attributes are enhanced?”

While the system allowed for item enhancement, gathering the necessary materials or meeting the conditions was no easy task.

Eager to test it, Zeke retrieved a suitable item from his inventory.

“Let’s see if this works.”

He took out the Eternal Ice Crystal he had obtained after defeating the Nephilim Ice Queen.

Having no idea how to use it, he felt it was a perfect candidate for testing the Holy Grail’s enhancement capabilities.

Zeke opened the Holy Grail and placed the Eternal Ice Crystal inside.

As he closed the lid, a mystical light began to emanate from its surface.

[Enhancement will take approximately 3 hours.]

A progress indicator appeared following the message.

“Three hours, huh? I wonder how it will change.”

While waiting, Zeke decided to explore the system-sharing feature linked to Serazad through the Covenant of the Sanctuary.

“System, display the relevant details.”

At Zeke’s command, a list of options appeared before him.

―Sharing Settings―

  1. Communication Function Settings

  2. System Sharing Settings

  3. Inventory Sharing Settings

  4. Secure Archive Sharing Settings

Zeke was taken aback by the sharing options.

“Not only can I share the system itself, but even the inventory and secure archive?”

Though he had formed a Covenant with Serazad, they weren’t true allies yet. Sharing the system’s functions with her posed significant risks.

Zeke decided to first examine the communication function settings.

Opening the message box, he found it filled with messages from Serazad.

Deleting them, Zeke shook his head.

“I’d better not mention that we can communicate like this.”

The message function allowed for sending stored images and memory data, and even sharing one’s field of vision with the other party.

Moreover, as the system administrator, Zeke could control the direction of communication.

He could set it so that he could send messages while the other party could only receive them.

While magic could achieve similar results, it consumed a lot of mana and was more limited than the system.

“I’ll keep the message function closed for now. If I need to communicate with the Sultan later, I’ll adjust the settings then.”

As Zeke continued to explore the system-sharing settings, a message appeared before him.

[Enhancement is complete.]

The message indicated that the enhancement of the Eternal Ice Crystal in the Holy Grail was finished.

Zeke approached the Holy Grail and slowly opened the lid.

A powerful chill emanated from within.

Inside the Holy Grail lay a white orb the size of a fist.

Originally a blue orb, it had turned white after being enhanced by the Holy Grail’s power.

Zeke immediately checked the information on the enhanced Eternal Ice Crystal.

―Ice Elemental Stone Information―

Description: The Eternal Ice Crystal, enhanced by primordial light, has transformed. It is a crystallized form of pure elemental ice power.

Unique Power: Absolute Zero.

Special Note: To wield the Elemental Stone, one must be able to control elemental power. Otherwise, there is a risk of the power running amok.

Zeke’s eyes lingered on the phrase “a substance crystallized from the essence of pure elemental power” as he read the description.

“You need to be able to control elemental power to handle it, huh.”

He picked up the Elemental Stone and activated its power.

A fierce chill burst forth from within.

Whoosh—

In an instant, the temperature around him plummeted, and everything from where Zeke stood began to freeze solid.

Zeke quickly reined in the energy.

“Good grief.”

He had only tapped into the power for a moment, yet the entire room was encased in ice.

The cold was far more intense than anything he’d experienced when using his freezing abilities before.

Zeke surveyed the frozen floor and furniture, pondering his next move.

“Hmm, what to do… It doesn’t seem like it’ll melt on its own.”

After a moment’s thought, he retrieved the Elemental Stone once more.

Carefully, he manipulated the field of water energy to adjust the stone’s chill.

Whoosh—

As the intense cold threatened to surge out again, Zeke focused his mind, absorbing the surrounding chill instead.

The cold, which had been eager to escape, now reversed direction under Zeke’s will.

The icy air that had frozen the room transformed into a white mist and flowed back into the Elemental Stone.

Whoosh—

The room, once frozen solid, returned to its original state.

Zeke released the water energy field and opened his eyes with effort.

“Phew, controlling elemental power is really tough.”

Even though the Elemental Sword was the most powerful skill he possessed, it wasn’t something he could wield easily.

Satisfied with the formidable power of the Elemental Stone, Zeke stored it in his inventory.

‘If it can unleash this level of cold, it’ll be invaluable in the war against the Demon King’s army.’

He recalled ancient monsters, demons, and giant soldiers trapped in ice.

With the power of absolute zero, he could freeze and seal entire legions of monsters and beasts, significantly hindering the Demon King’s forces on the battlefield.

Contemplating future uses, Zeke tucked away the Elemental Stone and turned his attention to the newly acquired power, testing the enhanced area buff ability called “Amplification.”

Vroom—

It seemed similar to a basic area buff, boosting the power and capabilities of skills.

But as he activated the power, something hummed in his pocket.

‘What’s this?’

He pulled out the source of the vibration—a hand mirror given to him by the Sage of Stories.

The moment Zeke held up the mirror, the Sage’s voice erupted from the other side.

“Ah-ha! Finally, we’re connected! Zeke! Where are you right now? Get over here, quick!”

The urgency in his voice was unmistakable.

“Nigel’s been captured by them!”
