Episode 550
“The progenitor of the Draker clan?”
In the world as it is known today, the founder of the Draker lineage is the legendary dragonslayer, Terracan Draker.
However, through hidden lore, Zeke had learned that the true progenitor of the Draker bloodline was none other than King Solomon, the ruler of the mythical city of Carcosa and the first godslayer, an Irregular.
Yet here was Harvey West, claiming to be the progenitor of the Draker clan himself.
“That’s absurd.”
Seeing Zeke’s disbelief, the priest nodded.
“Yes, it’s hard to believe. But it is the truth.”
Zeke chuckled softly and pointed his sword at Harvey West.
“Whether you’re the progenitor of the Drakers or the Siemens, it doesn’t matter to me. What matters is that by destroying you and absorbing the soul of the arrogant savior, I can stop both the demon king and the lords of the demon realm.”
Harvey West shook his head at Zeke’s words.
“It seems you’ve been swayed by the deceitful tongue of Mephistopheles.”
With a snap of his fingers, an image appeared behind Harvey West.
A majestic cityscape, exuding grandeur and dignity.
In the center of the city stood a tower that seemed to pierce the sky.
“This is Babel, the city of salvation built by the arrogant savior for the demon realm.”
Babel was of such a grand scale that it made Pandemonium, as shown by Mephistopheles, seem insignificant in comparison.
Harvey West looked at Zeke and spoke.
“Mephistopheles, that cunning demon, conspired with other archdemons to lure the arrogant savior into the material realm.”
Rumble!
As he spoke, a massive power surged from Harvey West’s body.
“The arrogant savior, trusting his friend Mephistopheles, had no choice but to enter the material realm, despite the many restrictions.”
Zeke frowned at Harvey West’s words, which contradicted everything he had heard from the princess and Arataso.
“The demon lords deceived the arrogant savior to usurp his place…”
It was entirely plausible, given the nature of the demons of the demon realm.
Rumble!
When Zeke didn’t respond, Harvey West’s red eyes glinted menacingly.
“Demons are inherently such beings. Zeke Draker, if you fall for Mephistopheles’ trickery and attempt to thwart the grand endeavor, I will obliterate you. However.”
Harvey West fixed his gaze on Zeke.
“If you choose to follow me, you could stand with me as a key player in the final act.”
Zeke could sense an unparalleled madness in Harvey West’s invitation, a twisted fervor unlike anything he had ever encountered.
“I must end him here.”
Without hesitation, Zeke raised Ascalon and aimed it at Harvey West.
“I’ve heard enough of your insane ramblings. There’s no need to listen any further.”
With that, Zeke lunged forward, unleashing a sharp strike.
Boom!
As the attack flew towards him, Harvey West raised his hand.
Behind him, energies coalesced into a black void, from which a single red eye emerged.
Crackle—
The eye emitted a red lightning that neutralized Zeke’s attack.
Crackle!
The red lightning not only nullified Zeke’s strike but also expanded its range, sweeping through the golem knights, Arataso, and Nebilos.
Boom!
The destructive lightning wreaked havoc, scorching everything in its path.
“Ugh!”
Exhausted from battling the bone legion, Arataso and Nebilos couldn’t fully withstand the lightning and were forced back.
As a result, the undead army summoned by Nebilos was reduced to ashes in an instant.
Even the golem knights, known for their formidable defense, couldn’t withstand the onslaught and were shattered, forced into reverse summoning.
At that moment, a shadow spread before Arataso and Nebilos, blocking the red lightning.
“Arataso! Nebilos! Over here!”
Following Zeke’s command, Arataso and Nebilos retreated in the direction he indicated.
Though the shadow armor was holding back the lightning, the power emanating from the eye was formidable.
As Zeke assessed how to counter it, Arataso spoke to him.
“This power is also the ‘Eye of the God of Destruction’ that the arrogant savior possessed. The more it destroys, the stronger it becomes.”
Zeke furrowed his brow at Arataso’s words.
“Lightning that grows stronger with destruction… Is this also the savior’s power?”
Arataso shook his head.
“The arrogant savior once plucked out the Eye of the God of Destruction to create an artifact.”
He continued, his tone puzzled.
“But I thought this artifact was destroyed in the war of the demon realm. First the bone legion, now this artifact… it’s all resurfacing.”
Zeke asked Arataso, “Do you know what the savior’s power is? It seems related.”
Arataso hesitated before replying.
“The arrogant savior was at the pinnacle of all fallen constellations. No one knows the true nature of his power.”
Crackle!
Even as Zeke and Arataso conversed, the destructive lightning continued to grow in strength, filling the space.
The lightning, deflected by the shadow, rebounded off the walls and struck towards Zeke.
Boom!
Watching the ever-strengthening destructive force, Zeke drew Levatein.
He turned to Arataso and Nebilos.
“I’ll handle him. You two get out of here. Join Boris and tell him to destroy this place.”
Arataso was taken aback and asked, “Destroy it? How will you get out?”
“I’ll figure it out. The priority is to keep that priest from escaping.”
After a moment’s hesitation, Arataso nodded.
“Understood. We’ll follow your orders.”
Zeke extended his hand, summoning the shadow sword Caladbolg, and hurled it towards the opposite door.
The shadows formed a path around Caladbolg, blocking the lightning.
Arataso and Nebilos dashed towards the door, and seeing this, Harvey West raised his hand.
“Trying to pull a fast one, are you?”
A sinister energy gathered in his raised hand.
But then—
Crackle!
A magical backlash began to unfold around Zeke, disrupting Harvey West’s spell and causing it to go awry.
In that moment, Arataso and Nebilos successfully escaped the chamber.
Zeke looked at Harvey West and said, “You won’t have time to worry about them.”
With that, he raised Levatein and summoned all his strength.
Vroom!
Without pause, Zeke unleashed the power of the Triple Spell towards the Eye of the God of Destruction.
Ultimate Skill
Triple Spell
Will of Nullification
Vroom!
Imbued with Zeke’s will to nullify everything, the ultimate skill activated.
Crackle—
As the will of nullification touched it, the seemingly unstoppable destructive lightning began to dissipate.
Crackle!
The lightning, which had been rampaging through the space, scattered into red light.
Simultaneously, the Eye of the God of Destruction, which had been emitting the lightning, began to fade.
Crackle—
Soon, as if washed away, the Eye of the God of Destruction and the lightning vanished completely from the space.
Harvey West’s eyes widened at the astonishing phenomenon Zeke had created.
He thought he had understood all of Zeke’s abilities, but realized there were still realms beyond his grasp.
As he marveled anew, Zeke charged at Harvey West, gripping Caladbolg.
Whoosh!
Using Duke’s Gale Technique, Zeke closed the distance in an instant, his sword descending towards Harvey West’s head.
Clang!
Astonishingly, the homunculus of Kaishir, thought to be destroyed, appeared before Harvey West.
Though puzzled by the homunculus’s restored form, Zeke immediately swung Levatein, unleashing the Elemental Sword.
Boom!
The powerful wind force pushed the homunculus back.
Standing firm before Harvey West, as if to protect him, was Kaishir’s homunculus.
Zeke pointed his sword at Harvey West behind it and spoke.
“The soul of the arrogant savior you possess… I think I understand his power now.”
Harvey West’s eyebrow twitched at Zeke’s words.
Zeke’s lips parted slowly.
“The power to recreate what once existed. That was the arrogant savior’s power.”
Rumble!
Arataso and Nevilos felt the tremors shaking the entire labyrinth and quickly tried to escape the cavern.
As they fled, a flicker of blue flame danced in Nevilos’s eyes.
“Now’s the time to make our escape.”
Nevilos, a high-ranking demon and inspector under the Abyss’s master, was infamous even among the demon nobility. He was on the brink of ascending to the highest rank among the upper demons.
Driven by a reckless ambition to secure his promotion by harvesting souls from the mortal realm, he had answered the summons, only to find himself entangled with Zeke—a misfortune for any demon.
“When I was sealed within the sword, I couldn’t break these chains, but now I might have a chance.”
Thus, even while trapped, Nevilos had been biding his time, waiting for the perfect moment to break free.
Unlike Arataso, who had already shifted his allegiance towards Zeke, Nevilos harbored ambitions of returning to the Abyss’s master, reporting the chaotic state of the mortal realm, and solidifying his status in the demon world.
Watching Arataso sprint ahead, Nevilos suddenly stopped, stepping back and slipping away to distance himself.
“Finally! I need to break these chains and return to the demon world.”
The chains of Solomon, set by Zeke, bound even his soul, making a return to the demon world impossible under the current circumstances. However, Nevilos, well-versed in necromancy and dark magic, had devised a way to break free.
Sensing Arataso’s presence fade, he prepared to dismantle the chains.
“Zeke Draker, I’ll return to the Abyss and ensure your atrocities are avenged.”
Fueled by rage, Nevilos attempted to sever the chains binding his soul.
Crackle!
He summoned his power to break the chains, but they were so tightly bound that they showed no sign of yielding.
“These chains are as stubborn as their master.”
Determined, Nevilos decided to try another method. He planned to fragment his spirit just enough to slip free of the chains and then reassemble himself. It was a risky maneuver that could lead to his soul’s destruction, but as a noble high-ranking demon, Nevilos had the skill to pull it off.
With a deep breath, he summoned his power.
His spirit began to fragment, dispersing like mist.
Whispering wisps—
As his scattered soul reformed, the chains binding him clattered to the ground.
He raised his hands in triumph.
“Success! I’ve done it!”
Freed from the chains, Nevilos immediately attempted to return to the demon world, but something was amiss.
“Why can’t I return?”
Though the chains were gone, he couldn’t teleport back. Realizing something was seriously wrong, Nevilos’s mind raced.
And then he heard it.
A deep, ominous rumble echoed from the corridor, heralding the approach of something massive.
