Episode 629
A monstrous roar echoed through the air.
Harvey Draker, with countless tentacles flailing, lunged at Zeke as if to swallow him whole.
Zeke reached out towards the oncoming threat.
A deep hum resonated as the newfound power of his soul gathered in his hand, and he unleashed it towards Harvey Draker.
The wave of energy swept over Harvey, causing a subtle vibration at the cellular level. The tentacles sprouting from the dragon-like creature’s body trembled in agony before disintegrating into black ash.
The beast let out a guttural scream, its mouth agape, as a dark energy began to swirl within. The energy coalesced, compressing and spinning rapidly.
With a fierce whir, the atmosphere distorted, and black lightning crackled in all directions. Harvey Draker, embedded in the dragon’s head, pointed a finger at Zeke.
“Perish!”
With a sharp cry, a sphere of darkness shot towards Zeke, crackling with black electricity. Zeke extended his hand, and from either side, Ascalon and Laevatein rose into the air. Light emanated from the two swords, and they flew towards the dark sphere, howling as if alive.
The swords cut through the air, their erratic paths like meteors, aiming to pierce the sphere. As they collided with the sphere’s barrier, intense currents sparked, and plasma swirled, causing the very fabric of the dimension to crack.
Books from the Infinite Library were sucked into the rift, and Innocent, who had been protecting the high tables, raised his staff to mend the torn dimension. Despite his efforts, the clash of powers from two beings of celestial might continued to destabilize the space.
The ceiling of the Infinite Library could no longer withstand the strain and began to tear apart, prompting a scream from Nabu.
“We’re going to be sucked into the dimensional rift!”
Being pulled into such a rift meant becoming a lost soul, drifting aimlessly until one’s essence faded away. Desperate to avoid such a fate, Nabu shouted at Zeke.
“Zeke! If you’ve claimed the demon king’s soul, we need to leave now! We’ll be caught in this chaos if we stay!”
A louder sound erupted from above as the barrier shattered, and Ascalon and Laevatein sped towards the dark sphere. The swords switched positions, charging in an unpredictable trajectory. The sphere attempted to repel them with black electricity, but Ascalon countered with a burst of white current, neutralizing the attack.
Plasma and electricity erupted throughout the Infinite Library, tearing the space into shreds and creating multiple dimensional rifts. As the plasma and currents were drawn into these rifts, the collapse of the space accelerated.
While Ascalon neutralized the currents, Laevatein surged forward, its blade extending and piercing the dark sphere. The sphere spun, trying to crush Laevatein, but the sword began to absorb the dark matter, a feat even Zeke hadn’t anticipated.
A message appeared before Zeke’s eyes:
[The Dark Sword Laevatein absorbs the twisted causality source ‘Dark Matter.’]
[The absorbed ‘Dark Matter’ undergoes a transformation, unlocking Laevatein’s unique power ‘Soul of Darkness.’]
Laevatein had unexpectedly unlocked a new power.
‘Soul of Darkness?’
Information about this new ability flowed into Zeke’s mind.
—Soul of Darkness: Can revert twisted causality to nothingness. / Converts absorbed Dark Matter into Karma Points.
Zeke’s eyes gleamed with understanding.
‘A power that can nullify twisted causality.’
In a situation where Arthur Draker was using twisted causality to empower his minions, the Soul of Darkness was the perfect countermeasure.
With this ability, Zeke could normalize twisted causality without expending Karma Points.
‘By absorbing Dark Matter and converting it into Karma Points, I can gain an advantage in the battle against Arthur Draker.’
Confirming that the dark sphere had been completely absorbed, Zeke gestured to Laevatein, which returned to his hand.
The energy Laevatein had absorbed flowed into Zeke, and another message appeared.
[By purifying twisted causality and absorbing the chaos source Dark Matter, your soul’s rank has increased.]
[With the increase in soul rank, the new system function ‘Overclock’ is unlocked.]
Information about the newly unlocked ‘Overclock’ function streamed into Zeke’s mind.
—Overclock System Information—
Overclock: Consumes Karma Points to exceed the limits of Karma for a set period.
Karma Points already allowed one to transcend the process of causality, but there were still limits. Overclock enabled Zeke to surpass these limits temporarily.
‘This means I might be able to use the full power of my restricted divinity.’
Zeke confirmed that the absorbed Dark Matter had been converted into Karma Points. The amount was far greater than when he had captured the demonic beast.
With a portion of these Karma Points, Zeke activated ‘Overclock.’
A vibrant aura of multicolored light enveloped him, allowing him to unleash his true divine power beyond the constraints of Karma.
‘My entire being is surging with power.’
Zeke fully opened his divine power, transcending his limits.
The power of the celestial being
Surrounded by the radiant aura, Zeke reached out towards the rift in the unique space.
The power of recreation, imbued with his complete divinity, sealed the rift, stabilizing the Infinite Library that had been on the verge of tearing apart.
‘So this is how it works.’
Having mastered the use of Overclock, Zeke turned his attention to the high tables, extending his hand.
A multicolored light shimmered where they stood, and Nabu and the others watched in surprise as the light enveloped them, drawing them into a portal that appeared in the space.
Zeke had used the enhanced system portal to send the high tables outside the Infinite Library.
Despite Zeke’s efforts to stabilize the Infinite Library, residual effects continued to cause cracks throughout the space.
The dragon’s roar reverberated, accelerating the formation of these cracks.
Turning towards the source, Zeke saw Harvey Draker, deprived of Dark Matter’s power, being attacked by Ascalon. Tentacles emerged from between the dragon’s sharp scales, trying to ensnare the sword, but Ascalon’s speed was unmatched.
Empowered by divine energy, Ascalon sliced through the tentacles, relentlessly assaulting the dragon’s core. Each strike left scales falling and wounds etched into its surface.
“Zeke Draker!”
Harvey Draker, clinging to the dragon’s head, screamed at Zeke.
Zeke, bathed in radiant light and revealing his full divine power, looked down at Harvey from above.
Harvey, unable to bear the sight, shouted defiantly.
“The protagonist of the final act is me, not you!”
Created as a savior by the great sage’s homunculus, Harvey Draker was determined to claim his destiny.
For as long as he could remember, Harvey Drake had harbored envy and jealousy toward Zeke Drake, the true savior, who possessed everything Harvey had ever desired.
This twisted longing within Harvey became a fervent wish, awakening the distorted causality rooted deep in his heart.
A low rumble echoed—
The dark matter core embedded in Harvey’s heart responded to his yearning.
“I want that power for myself.”
The core summoned the very depths of Harvey’s being into the physical realm.
With a thunderous crack, the core’s power began to transform the monstrous dragon.
But the form it took was none other than a colossal Zeke Drake.
Clad in the Drake uniform and wielding the Levatein, he transformed into a towering black statue resembling Zeke.
With a resounding thud, the giant Zeke Drake reached out and seized the real Zeke in one hand.
“Your power is mine.”
With those words, he swallowed Zeke whole in a single gulp.
The giant Zeke Drake shuddered, and soon his face contorted, shifting from Zeke’s visage to another.
It seemed to morph into Harvey Drake’s face, but the twisted expression remained frozen, distorted.
A voice seeped from the crooked mouth.
“Everything is mine… all of it…”
And then it happened.
A series of cracks echoed—
Something inside the giant Harvey Drake began to break apart, as if something within was gnawing away at him.
As the pain intensified, Harvey clutched his stomach, writhing in agony.
“No, it can’t be…!”
His scream reverberated through the air.
Simultaneously, the blade of the Levatein, shrouded in dark energy, burst forth from Harvey’s chest.
With a violent crack, a shadow erupted from the Levatein, transforming into the maw of a massive beast.
The distorted face of Harvey Drake met the beast’s gaping mouth.
Just as he attempted to speak, the shadow’s jaws snapped open, engulfing Harvey’s head.
Crunch— Crunch—
Black blades erupted from his body, morphing into mouths that began to devour the crystallized form.
Snap, snap!
In an instant, the entity known as Harvey Drake vanished without a trace.
All that remained was a floating black shadow.
Soon, the shadow dissipated, revealing Zeke.
A soft whisper—
The shadow seeped back into Zeke’s body.
“A pitiful and hollow end.”
Such was Zeke’s reflection on the demise of Harvey Drake, the persistent priest of the abyss and one of the masterminds who had stood in his way.
As the shadows fully returned, the absorbed power flowed into Zeke.
A message appeared before his eyes.
