With the naming of the clan, most of the major tasks were finally wrapped up. I found myself eagerly waiting for the day to pass. If I had just waited idly, it would have been a rather dull time. Fortunately, a few incidents cropped up to keep me entertained.

One of those was when Hayeon announced she had finally completed the engraving of the Jewel of Amplification. Outwardly, there wasn’t much change. If you looked closely into her eyes, you could catch a faint blue shimmer now and then. Curious about where she had engraved the jewel, I asked her, but she just gave a sly smile and didn’t reveal it. Her slightly flushed face suggested it was somewhere a bit embarrassing. Where on earth could it be?

The Jewel of Amplification enhances the user’s mana attributes, boosting positive factors like increased mana flow speed, higher mana purity, and reduced mana consumption for spells. It was a perfect match for Hayeon, and given its high grade, it would be a great asset in future battles.

Another matter involved Shin Sangyong’s inheritance of a rare class. After the meeting, I returned to my office, and soon after, someone burst through the door. Without needing to turn around, I knew it was Shin Sangyong. His face was flushed with excitement, quite unlike his usual demeanor. As soon as he saw me, he seemed ready to bow deeply, so I preempted him.

“Hold on. Yes, it’s fine. I know. But there’s no need for that.”

“Leader… what?”

“I understand your feelings, Shin Sangyong. Rather than going on about it, getting accustomed to it quickly will benefit us all. I’m sorry I couldn’t give it to you sooner. Vivienne forgot to mention it.”

“Leader…”

He seemed to want to say something, his lips moving slightly, but he closed his mouth at my words. He straightened from his half-bowed position, tears welling in his eyes. Even without words, his expression showed he was deeply moved.

“To think you’d give something so precious to someone like me… I was content just to learn under you when I first joined. How can I ever repay this kindness?”

“I’m well aware of the importance of a rare class, as is Vivienne. I gave it to you not out of sentiment but because I see potential in you. You should have more confidence in your actions and skills.”

“Thank you. Truly, thank you. As you said, rather than expressing my current feelings in words, I’ll strive to improve my skills quickly to repay your kindness. That’s the only way I can repay you.”

“Haha. If you do that, I’ll be relieved. Congratulations on obtaining the rare class. You should proceed with the inheritance ceremony soon.”

At my words, Shin Sangyong nodded and immediately opened a book. Each class has its own method and ceremony for inheritance. For Ahn Hyun, it was touching the “Spear of Darkness.” For the “Chimera Alchemist,” it seemed reading the book was the way to perform the ceremony.

I watched as his eyes scanned the air, likely reading messages floating before him. He nodded once and began reading the book intently. As he turned each page with trembling hands, his body gradually took on a golden hue.

Eventually, the deepening golden light obscured him from view, but the sound of pages turning continued. He was likely experiencing a strange sensation, a tingling he had never felt before, as the power flowed into him.

About ten minutes passed. It was a quick time to read a book, but given it was part of the “setting,” it couldn’t be judged by normal standards. Only the user who experienced it could know the process. As the golden light around him faded, I saw him standing with his eyes closed, clutching the book. I quickly activated my third eye.

Reading his status, I let out a small sigh. So much had changed since I first met him. His agility increased by 1, and his mana by 4. Compared to Ahn Hyun’s attribute increase, it seemed lacking, but considering his years and the attributes he had raised, it was understandable.

That wasn’t all. His alchemy magic ranked up, and his traditional magic advanced a stage. The rare class also restored a lost special ability (which had become a unique ability) and awakened the potential ability “Magic Fortification Construction” through his training. Though he was naturally reserved, he must have worked harder than anyone else behind the scenes.

As a side note, there’s a distinction between secret and rare classes. Inheriting a rare class often awakens unique, special, and potential abilities aligned with the class’s nature. If you obtain it early, it’s fine, but if all abilities are already awakened, it can be a bit tricky.

However, the settings aren’t too rigid. Angels recommend classes that match users’ tendencies, so the settings they impose are applied appropriately to each situation. In Shin Sangyong’s case, his lost special ability was restored, but for users with full abilities, a similar ability might be selected for evolution. (Of course, there’s a limit. If the class and abilities are entirely different, it can’t be considered an evolution.)

Secret classes apply a higher level of “settings” than the above, and they can receive “powers” not available to rare classes. This means you can gain an extra ability without consuming a slot.

As for me, in terms of abilities, I’ve reached the pinnacle as a swordsman. No matter how great the abilities offered, I can silence them all with my sword unity. Plus, I have the power to cut through anything and the power of fire. Even if the “Sword Expert” is the highest level secret class, it can’t surpass the special settings applied to me. That’s why only the power came with it.

Confirming that he had become a “Chimera Alchemist,” he couldn’t hold back his emotions and shed tears. Though they were a man’s tears, they didn’t seem pitiful at all. In a way, he reminded me of myself in my first life, deeply moved as his dreams became reality.

I waited for his tears to subside before quietly calling the others to congratulate him. The team rushed to offer their congratulations, and after hearing my explanation, the others also smiled and encouraged him. He seemed a bit awkward with the attention, scratching his head with reddened eyes.

Surprisingly, no one looked at him with envy or jealousy. Perhaps they all remembered, in some corner of their hearts, the sacrifices he had made for the caravan, knowingly or unknowingly.

Thus, Shin Sangyong inherited a rare class amidst the heartfelt congratulations of his companions.

“Clan Lord, Year 0 User Kim Suhyun. Along with clan members Ahn Hyun, Ahn Sol, Lee Yoojung, Vivienne La Clasidus, Jung Hayeon, Shin Sangyong, and Go Yeonju. They have significantly contributed to the stabilization of Mule by excavating and successfully exploring two ruins in a short time. Not only do they include Year 0 users, but they also have a member of the ‘Top 10,’ and, incredibly, two secret classes and three rare classes among them. They have also discovered another ruin in the Blue Mountains and reported their exploration. Although the total number is only eight, their potential for growth is highly regarded. Therefore, Conrad Douglas, granted the authority to establish a clan in the small city of Mule, hereby announces the approval and launch of the Free Mercenary Clan.”

As Conrad Douglas finished speaking, a flurry of messages appeared. They were the usual notifications about the clan’s creation and the activation of the Clan section. After dismissing all the messages, I calmly opened my player status.

  6. Gender: Male (24)

  7. Height · Weight: 181.5 cm · 75.5 kg

  8. Alignment: Lawful · Chaos

Take a look at this. I was taken aback when I saw the clan listed under the nation. Despite the abundance of secret and rare classes, this newly established clan had already achieved a D rank. Most clans starting from scratch receive an F rank, and even the best of them only manage an E. To be awarded a D rank right from the start, with fewer than ten members, was certainly unusual.

After receiving modest congratulations from the local residents, our group was absorbed in their messages and personal information. When I looked up, Conrad Douglas was watching me, trying to maintain a dignified expression.

“Congratulations on founding the clan. The emblem is properly registered, so if you want to display it, you should head to a regular city or a major one. This place is still underdeveloped…”

“Haha, no worries. This is more than enough.”

“Well, I must say, I was really surprised by the details you submitted. Two secret classes and three rare ones. You could have given me a heads-up. There was nothing about that in the report.”

“I guess I was too focused on ensuring the safety of the survey team and forgot to mention our achievements.”

“That’s alright. It’s something I can understand on a personal level, and as long as you can provide minimal proof of your accomplishments, that’s enough. By the way, could we have a word? There’s something I’d like to ask of you, and something to tell you.”

I nodded willingly. It seemed the 200 gold I had given him was having the desired effect. The use of the word “ask” and his tone suggesting he had something to share confirmed it. Of course, there might be other factors at play.

Once we moved to a different location, Douglas lowered his voice and began to speak.

“We write reports on newly established clans and distribute them here and there. It’s a form of promotion, you see. Of course, we can refrain from doing so if the clan leader prefers. What do you think?”

“I’d appreciate it if you did.”

“Good. I was worried you might say otherwise. Hahaha. Anyway, we usually write and distribute the report immediately after the clan is founded. Could we delay this a bit?”

His unexpected request made me stare at him for a moment. He scratched his chin and began to explain in more detail. He wanted to use our clan’s promotional effect to attract users after the Golden Lion Clan’s expedition to the Iron Mountains.

I could roughly guess his intentions. If the expedition succeeded, many users would flock to the south. By promoting the fact that three relics had been discovered in the small town of Mule in a short time, they aimed to market the town as a treasure trove. Whether true or not, it wouldn’t be a big issue for a frontier town.

Of course, more relics weren’t likely to appear, but I nodded in agreement. Since I knew news would come soon, a day or two’s delay in promotion didn’t matter. When I agreed, he laughed heartily and patted my shoulder. I didn’t ask what would happen if the expedition failed. If it did, they’d probably push this plan even more urgently.

“Hahaha! As expected, a secret class user is different. Thank you. If this plan works, Mule will surely outgrow its status as a frontier town in no time. Yes, indeed. In return, I’ll make sure to pay special attention to the promotion.”

“I’m sure you’ll handle it well. I trust you. By the way, what was it you wanted to tell me…?”

Eager to leave, I prompted him, and his face, which had been all smiles, suddenly turned serious. He glanced around, checking our surroundings, piquing my curiosity about what he was about to say.

Finally, closing the distance between us, Douglas began to speak in a hushed tone.

(Notice: Vivian User Information Update for Episode 73. The potential ability of Rank B Zero has been removed. It should have been 1 special ability slot + 4 potential ability slots, but it was mistakenly set to 5 slots. ㅜ.ㅠ)

Hello, this is Royujin.

Hmm. Everyone, today while I was on the subway heading home, I realized that there are truly many beautiful women in South Korea. My friends say I have low standards, but I don’t think so. When I see foreign women that everyone else goes crazy over, I just think they’re pretty, but I don’t feel much. I find Korean women much more beautiful, but people treat me like I’m strange for thinking that.

No, I’m not saying this because someone asked me, “Are you a eunuch?” today. And it’s definitely not because I’m single. I’m telling you, it’s not. ㅜ.ㅠ

  1. What’s Fun?: Wow! You beat out all the other contenders and came in first! Amazing! Congratulations on being number one!

  2. Legendary User: Yes, I’m keeping that in mind. There will be many trials and errors in the future. Please look forward to how Ahn Hyun will handle it. :)

  3. Blue Coral Forest: Ah, it’s about the Mercenary, right? That’s what the emblem is about. Imagine an M highlighted in a stylish cursive. Haha.

  4. Zero100: Correction completed. Thank you. (__)

  5. Kkoya: Ah, I did take some inspiration from Phalanx. However, that’s more about group battles, which is a bit different from Ahn Hyun’s class. Please look forward to how it will unfold. :)

  6. [DeepBlue]: Haha. Sun Yoon will become much stronger. As they rise to the <Top 10>, they’ll gain considerable power. I’m excited to see how they’ll reunite with Han Byul and what will happen. Haha.

  7. Miwolya: Yes, the most important things are fame and recognition. If there’s a vacancy or a user appears who can overwhelm or achieve a victory equivalent to a , they can be replaced. In ambiguous cases, the number can increase or decrease, but such cases are rare, and the existing <Top 10> members have a slight advantage in maintaining their positions.

  8. Iteration: The Priest of Radiance is the ultimate in the priest class. It’s a secret class. In terms of pure , I personally think it rivals a swordsmanship expert.

  9. Taenguriing: Hahahahaha. Giant Strongman is too strange. For example, “Oh no! We’ve detected an invasion by Kim Soo-hyun of the Giant Strongman Clan!” What! An invasion by the Giant Strongman Clan! Hahahahaha.

  10. Rebellion of the Ancient Dragon: Your girlfriend, right? Hahaha. Hahahahaha. Hahahahaha. It’s fine. Yes, I’m single. It’s fine, really. Hahaha! Hahahahaha! Hahahahaha! Hahaha. Hahaha. ㅜ.ㅠ
