Chapter 889
Episode 222: Yona’s Observation (Part 2)
(Bubar and Ainas have found the Royal Ant!)
(Orgal has gone to meet the Akmyeong tribe.)
(There’s a guy called Hwanmajjang—his real name is Pirops Bahma. He’s strong, sharp, and has some kind of dream ability.)
(Ainas is Pirops’s daughter, with even greater potential for dream abilities than her father. But she wants to wield a sword like Bianca Caligo, though she’s really not talented with swords.)
(Pirops learned through dreams that Elona was injured. Soon, he plans to enter Elona’s dream again to rescue other Hwanma trapped there.)
(It seems he also made contact with Kelliak through dream abilities. Ainas apparently entered Kelliak’s dream once, at Pirops’s request. Likewise, Ainas’s power is needed to enter Lokia Ganesto’s dream.)
(Marziella has gone berserk. It looks like a massive emergency.)
Runkandel, Garden of Swords.
The group gathered in the conference room kept marveling over Yona’s report. In this world, the only person capable of infiltrating Kinzello’s meeting room and extracting such detailed information was Yona herself.
“Yona brought back incredible intel. Hwanmajjang Pirops Bahma, and this dream ability…”
Dream ability.
Of course, the Bamel Alliance had never even imagined such a thing. Even now, little was known about the powers and authority of the demon race.
“Did our ancestors who fought in the Holy Kingdom’s defense war know anything about dream abilities?”
[Not exactly. But there were some suspicions.]
[During the Holy Kingdom’s defense war, we had a feeling our plans were being leaked to the enemy. We tried everything to find a spy but came up empty. So we guessed there might be a kind of prophet among the demons… and it seems it was actually dream abilities.]
Alpen and Tasha spoke, and Luet nodded.
[Even a thousand years ago, the Hwanma clans caused chaos in the human world. Our family’s knights would suffer nightmares because of them, sometimes losing consciousness. But I never imagined they could extract information directly from dreams…]
[Hmm, even Elona Ziphl, a Changsung mage, couldn’t stop the Hwanma infiltrating through dreams? That means this Hwanmajjang could enter all our dreams if he wanted.]
[But Yona’s report also mentions the Hwanma trapped inside dreams. Using dream abilities carries risks. Still, it’s troubling. If even Elona can’t stop them, it’s only a matter of time before all our secrets are exposed.]
It was Luet and Balas.
“A matter of time, huh? But it’s not that simple, Chief Steward. If gathering information through dream abilities were so easy, Orgal wouldn’t have been caught off guard so many times.”
[Ah, that’s true.]
“Also, although Elona Ziphl is a Changsung, as Ameris once said, she didn’t become one through training and awakening. So her willpower to protect her consciousness might be lacking. That might be why they entered Elona’s dream instead of Veradin’s. But then again, they also entered Kelliak’s dream, so maybe not.”
[Come to think of it, a thousand years ago, knights with strong willpower suffered less from nightmares. Maybe Kelliak’s case is because Ainas Caligo’s dream ability is even stronger than Pirops’s? According to the report, Pirops can’t enter Kelliak’s dream alone without Ainas’s help.]
“That makes sense. Ainas Caligo… so she’s another with special abilities like Bubar. The report also said Ainas’s power is needed to spy on Lokia Ganesto’s dream.”
[Great-grandson, putting aside Ainas’s dream ability, the fact that Kinzello can infiltrate Kelliak and Lokia’s dreams means he might know their locations.]
“Of course, Great-grandfather. But if he knew their exact locations, Orgal would likely have tried to contact them directly, like he did with the Akmyeong tribe. Or, even without knowing their locations, if he had some related artifact, he could infiltrate their dreams… For now, that’s all we can speculate.”
Orgal held a deep grudge against Lokia Ganesto. If he knew her whereabouts, he would have tried to kill or capture her, probably asking Jin for help.
[It’s frustrating knowing the enemy has such powers but having no effective countermeasures. Chief Steward, do you have any ideas?]
[I don’t know how to completely block dream intrusion. But perhaps Valeria and I could check our comrades’ records daily.]
[Oh! You mean to check every day whether there was a dream intrusion?]
[Exactly.]
“It might invade privacy a bit, but for now, that seems the best option—unless dream abilities can bypass record magic.”
[Record magic is so advanced it can even expose Ziphl’s historical fabrications. There’s no way a demon’s power wouldn’t show up in the records. Of course, this will be easier once the mass-produced Red Owls are ready. Valeria and I can’t patrol the entire alliance every day.]
“The mass production of Red Owls is delayed since Dr. Kwaul spends a lot of time at the barrier… but it should be completed soon.”
[If possible, we must secure Ainas Caligo later.]
“Agreed. For now, it’s best not to provoke Ainas. The Jinma realm alone is tough enough—we don’t need to antagonize powerful allies. Not just Ainas, but Bubar Gaston too—they’re Kinzello’s top core members.”
The discussion on countering dream abilities wrapped up.
“Orgal’s reason for meeting the Akmyeong tribe is obvious: a deal. They share a history from ancient times, so Orgal likely has information they need.”
Since Zephyrin revealed he was one of Ameris’s heads, he’s regained some ancient memories. He even recalled the destruction of the sealing barrier that Ameris had forgotten. So it’s certain Orgal holds information to trade with the Akmyeong.
[A deal… so could they form an alliance, great-grandson?]
“Kinzello won’t rush into an alliance with the Akmyeong. Their ideologies differ, and Kinzello would hesitate to fully turn against Ziphl. If they do ally, it’s either because Kinzello has a powerful trump card hidden, or the Akmyeong have means to defeat Ziphl.”
Both are possible, but Jin considered an alliance unlikely.
“Also, Kinzello’s attempt to contact Kelliak is obvious. Kelliak is like a broken, discarded vessel now—Kinzello wants to recruit him. For Kelliak, relying on Kinzello isn’t a bad option. Returning to Ziphl or joining the Akmyeong, the royal family, or the Jinma realm offers no solutions.”
Still, Kelliak could be a meaningful piece for Jin.
-[His fire opposes mine. But since it’s essentially the same fire, maybe I can use him to manifest myself.]
-Through Shinu’s power… I’ll gather information on Shinu while preparing for war with the Jinma realm, Tess. Shinu tried to make a deal with me, so communication might be possible.
This was a recent conversation with Tess.
Therefore, Jin wanted to secure Kelliak first. He couldn’t accept him into the alliance, but they could use each other’s strengths.
Since meeting Shinu, the Bamel Alliance has been tracking Kelliak’s whereabouts but found nothing.
“We’ll have to rely on Yona again to find Kelliak. If she keeps watching Ainas, some clue might emerge.”
Now, there was only one topic left about Yona’s information.
Marziella Ivliano.
Bishkel’s sister, an enigmatic figure whose abilities remain unknown.
“Marziella went berserk… and Pirops Bahma left immediately, even sensing someone hiding in the conference room. That shows how important Marziella is within Kinzello. Pirops was probably the only one who could control her rampage.”
They had long suspected Marziella’s importance in Kinzello. When Orgal and Zephyrin were absent, Marziella often represented Kinzello.
[It seems she’s controlled through that dream ability.]
[I wonder why she went berserk, and what happens when she does. But Chief Steward, I have a feeling Marziella’s rampage is connected to the Jinma realm.]
The Bamel Alliance didn’t know, but Marziella had once gone berserk during the Fierce God War, triggered by a mental attack from the Fierce God. Her current rampage was for a similar reason.
“I think so too, Chief Steward. Do you remember what I said when Orgal came to support the barrier?”
[Yes, I remember. You said there’s something in Kinzeloen, in the Jinma realm, that shouldn’t be seen. That’s why reinforcements were sent to the barrier on purpose.]
Jin’s eyes narrowed.
“I have a feeling it might be the presence of Margiela Ivliano. Next time I meet Tilius and Misol, I should ask them about her.”
