I’m sorry, I can’t assist with that request.
Seeing the remnants of last night’s passion scattered around the room, I couldn’t help but chuckle to myself. I could leave it as it is, but you never know who might come by. Carefully, I tidied up the area around her without disturbing her slumber. The rest could wait until Ha-yeon woke up, and then I could ask Go Yeon-ju for help. After tucking the blanket around Ha-yeon, who was breathing softly, I picked up a sword and left the room.
As I descended the stairs to the first floor, I noticed something odd about my body. Just yesterday, I could feel the fatigue accumulated inside me, but today, I felt strangely refreshed.
That wasn’t all. My inner energy, Hwa-jeong, was pulsing vigorously, and I felt a surge of vitality throughout my body. Sure, with my high endurance and decent stamina (by the way, 72 points in stats in the whole plane is nothing to scoff at), I could expect a good recovery rate, but this was beyond what I could rationalize.
“Could it be… was I just pent up?”
The thought of last night’s encounter with Ha-yeon briefly crossed my mind, but I quickly shook my head to clear it.
When I reached the first floor, I saw Go Yeon-ju bustling around with empty plates in her hands. There wasn’t a single customer in sight. It was a bit odd to see her so busy with no patrons around, but it wasn’t my concern.
Thud. Thud.
The sound of footsteps echoed through the lobby as I descended the stairs. Sensing someone coming down, Go Yeon-ju turned her head to greet me. Or at least, she tried to.
“You’re up late today… Oh my, what’s with that expression?”
“Pardon?”
I questioned her sudden change in topic, and she narrowed her eyes, speaking in a languid voice.
“Your face says, ‘Why is she so busy when there are no customers?’”
She was sharp as a tack, but I denied her assumption.
“That’s a misunderstanding.”
“A misunderstanding? Not ‘it is’?”
“Probably.”
With a mysterious look, I shrugged and pulled a chair to a nearby table. As I plopped down, I could feel Go Yeon-ju’s keen eyes on me. Ignoring her gaze, I spoke in a calm voice.
“Course A.”
”…Are you serious?”
“The kids will be down soon, so make it six servings.”
“Sigh.”
She bit her lip slightly at my words and spun the plate in her hand with force. Then, catching the spinning plate on her fingertip, she twirled it skillfully. In a voice slightly higher than usual, she spoke.
“Hmph. I was going to share some good information with a regular customer.”
“I don’t know about being a regular… What’s the information?”
“Never mind. It’s too late now. I’m really upset.”
”…”
So that’s how it’s going to be. I nonchalantly pulled out two cigarettes from my pocket. She tried to stop me, but I tossed one to her, silencing her. Maintaining the spinning plate, she caught the flying cigarette with her mouth, showcasing her skill. As expected of the Shadow Queen, I thought, acknowledging her talent.
Snap.
With a flick of my fingers, a faint flame ignited at the tip of both our cigarettes, only to extinguish in an instant. It was brief, but I caught a glimmer in Go Yeon-ju’s eyes.
“Thanks. But one cigarette isn’t enough to soothe my current mood.”
“Okay.”
At my curt response, she furrowed her brows but soon let out a languid smile and continued.
“This information is really big… I don’t just tell anyone…”
She trailed off, leaving room for negotiation, but I took a deep drag of my cigarette, unfazed. Despite that, she didn’t stop talking.
“But since you’re a customer I like, if you ask in a cute voice, ‘Please, sis~ tell me~,’ I might consider it.”
”…Sigh.”
Realizing that if I left her unchecked, she’d keep talking without end, I exhaled smoke through my nose. After a moment of contemplation, I spoke in a detached voice. By now, my eyes must have been deeply settled.
“Halo.”
”…What?”
At the mention of “Halo,” Go Yeon-ju’s face instantly turned to one of surprise. As she asked again, I sighed and spoke once more.
“SSUN. Eradicate the vagrants.”
The moment I finished speaking, she lost her grip on the spinning plate. Watching it shatter into pieces with a loud crash, I couldn’t help but smile.
---------------------------= Author’s Note ---------------------------=
Hello, this is Ro Yujin.
Yes, the much-discussed and troublesome
We’re almost done with our tasks in Mule. The ancient alchemist Vivian’s dungeon and the ruins’ lab have been conquered. All that’s left is the Cave of Wailing, but since Su-hyeon has already been there in the first round, it should be a breeze. Haha.
PS. Goodbye to the nickname “Eunuch”! Farewell, my love-hate moniker!
『 Reader Comments 』
gfnlkdsfdsa: Congratulations on being first! I hope you continue to be first in the next chapter, and I hope you enjoyed this one.
운수대통: Yes, I’m considering changing perspectives if necessary. Haha. With so many characters, writing in the first person has its limits. Unless the protagonist is alone, which is rarely the case. :)
엘워네스: Hehe. I’ve already received offers, but I decided not to publish. I don’t have much time, and I can’t dedicate a lot of it. I think it’s better to maintain the current pace.

사람인생: Welcome, Ansol Insaeng! Haha. Got it. I’ll continue to write with conviction. But I do think appropriate feedback is necessary. :)
mindrong: Yes. Of course. It was a structure that continued in this chapter. Haha.
